D&D Tree & Landscaping create a gardening masterpiece on the Hudson
Story by: Tom Riley

DDTree_patioThe newly-finished gardens at a home in tony Sneden’s Landing are already gathering rave reviews. Steve DeLucia and his team at D & D Tree & Landscaping Inc. in Blauvelt are justly proud of what they have created.

Faye Fleming, a freelance garden designer with an impressive resume and Steve worked together to create a master- piece, “a little bit of heaven on earth,” as some people are calling it. Steve, the owner and president of D &D Tree & Landscaping is a certified arborist who has been “Bringing Landscapes to Life Since 1978.” He is ably assisted by Chris DeLucia, director of operations and Mark Zinck, chief log truck operator/head of fleet maintenance.

Steve has been landscaping his entire life. His grandfather began the company which was later taken over by his father and subsequently by Steve himself. It’s a three generation, family-owned business. Steve worked with his two brothers, alongside his father and grandfather. His brother, Mike is now a medical doctor and Dave is currently the director of parks in Westchester and also a licensed landscape architect. Dave and Steve still work together on many design and build projects. One happy customer said this about Steve and his Team at D & D Tree & Landscaping: “if you can imagine your idea of a paradise in your own backyard, D & D can build it.” Steve DeLucia is so well regarded in his field he has been asked to consult on a UN Garden.

Chris DeLucia has been working with D & D during the summers and winters throughout high school and college. After completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Economics at SUNY Oneonta he is now a full time employee overseeing the daily operation at D & D. He’s responsible for making sure the staff at D & D are equipped with the materials needed to complete each specific task. He is learning the ropes and attending trade shows in order to keep up with the latest technology. Chris is extraordinarily talented and energetic, whether it is managing production, working with crews, or inter- acting with customers.

Mike Zinck joined D & D after moving from Canada. Yes, D & D has an official Canadian lumberjack on staff. Mark is also a gifted Head of Fleet Maintenance. This spring, summer and fall, D & D Tree & Landscaping is busy with planning, designing, building and maintaining proper- ties. They have a licensed general contractor on staff who can build from the ground up. Corporations rely on them to maintain their grounds and increasingly use their design staff to keep up with green technology and the use of plantings for a healthier environment. D & D has a reputation for being cost effective and working within any budget. Testimonials from very satisfied residential customers attest to their ability in using the best materials while working within their budget.
